Celebrating 25 years of community.
On the evening of February 3, 2018, we gathered to pay tribute to Beth Chaim’s 25th anniversary and to honor those members who have established, and so generously nurtured, our home for a lifetime! In the glow of a havdalah candle, lead by our marvelous Rabbi Michelle Pearlman, we shared and recognized, in joy and love, this community milestone event. We also achieved record-breaking attendance and fundraising revenue for a single event, signficant accomplishments towards ensuring the future viability of our Reform Jewish home, for generations to come.
Our Silver Jubilee committee transformed the social hall and sanctuary space into a sparkling celebration space, attended by over 150 guests. Guests received a warm welcome at the door by our Jubilee co-chairs, perused over 100 spectacular silent auction items, ordered a drink at our Open Bar sponsored by our Platinum Sponsor, BB&T Bank, and enjoyed a catered feast. After the close of the silent auction tables, Bill Bunch, our professional auctioneer, received Beth Chaim's very first "Friend for a Lifetime Award" for his many years of effort and selfless contribution to our community. Mr. Bunch then animated an extraodinary LIVE Auction. Our Board sponsored the Dessert Table, and Clay's Creative Corner Bakery donated the delicious and beautiful blue and white anniversary cake. The evening wrapped up with raffle drawings - over a dozen delightful prizes, including 2 premium raffles for a François Jouin necklace and tickets to see Hamilton on Broadway! As Rabbi said that night, "This is the Best Show Ever."
